Babcia

Not only is much of my art dedicated to my Grandmother (Babcia) but my garden is too !! I remember her garden being full of Lilac and Lilly of the Valley so I have both in my garden.... The lilac is a very pale highly scented one... and the Lilly of the Valley is just delightful!! I picked some this morning to scent my studio.
When I went to visit my son last weekend I made a promise to him to go for a brisk 1/2 hour walk every day (to get fit and lose weight slowly). On this mornings walk I came across this lovely rusty gate - it has a beautiful post... A bit further down this lane I came across some lovely chickens - but as I only had my phone camera I could not get a good close up. Here they are.... Then suddenly from the right hand side of their pen I saw this.... can you see it - I have put a big arrow - it was the biggest rat I have seen - but so cute too!! You can just make out its tail - it reaches the wood block to the right!

Back Home and my garden delights

Checking out the veg.. Found one of my beans has sprouted right beside my courgette - do I leave it to grow there or do I transplant?? Lets leave it there. Checking the garlic - loads growing nicely - in the background - left chive and right thyme. The pot of salad - I love snipping this for my lunch - its a cut and grow more variety - lovely - Look here is handful for my smoked salmon wrap!!
I have spent a lovely couple of days at my son's new apartment - he has just bought the place - his first own home!! It is just as I imagined my son would choose. It is lovely! I am so proud. His is the one where the blue flag is pointing right into his living room (2nd floor - not 3rd floor!!)

Resigned

Much as I have enjoyed the last two months working with the girls in the Co-ord section of the DCE I gave my notice in on Tuesday. Have some family stuff to sort out and then who knows - let's see what happens.

A Good End and a Hopeful Beginning

The Christmas break was great - my Children came home twice, I was given some wonderful gifts and it was simply great.

I am sitting here on the afternoon of New Year's Eve (alone but happy) appreciating that although this last year has been truly horrible for me and my family it has also not been so very bad.

2009 can only get better and I hope it will.

I have several ideas for art work in my head and I hope that the creative muse helps them out in 2009 I will use this blog to list a summary of achievements (if any).

For now I wish those of you who read this - a very Happy New Year.

I would like to wish you all a HAPPY CHRISTMAS and a GOOD NEW YEAR

It has been ages since I created anything - my muse is in very deep hibernation - she has not even set foot in the studio, opened a book or looked on line and you know part of me is really glad. Right now I quite like the idea of being depressed - sounds strange but it is actually liberating because this is the 'Real' me (I'm actually happy being depressed and doing nothing!). I had an interview this morning - I felt it went well and I had the usual promise - we'll let you know today. Well that never happened. Then I got a call to say tomorrows interview has been postponed until the New Year. So I sink lower.

The good thing is that tomorrow evening I collect my son from the station and then my daughter will arrive on Christmas Day. So I have that to look forward to , although they will only be with me for 1.5 days before they disappear and re-appear again on 29th for 1.5 days but nevertheless I can't wait.

New Year I will be alone - perhaps my muse will return with the start of a new year, on the other hand I may just hibernate for quite a while so don't worry!
